In 2005, Castagner won the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, leading him to performances in New York at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall, at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C and in Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

Castagner made his debut with the New York Philharmonic in October 2006 in Ravel’s one-act opera, L’enfant es les sortileges.
