The exhibit is titled “Nemutte Naosu,” which is Japanese for ‘get rid of by sleeping.’
A reception for the artist is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24.
Young’s current body of work is a study in line and color layering using Japanese batik methods of rozome (wax resist) and bokashi (graduated dyeing) on silk. These techniques result in a dreamy atmosphere with transitions of vivid color.
