Don’t miss the 12th Annual Celebration of Craft from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at Tennessee Tech’s Appalachian Center for Craft near Smithville.

This year the educational and entertaining event welcomes event sponsors Wal-Mart, Synergy Mind Body Fitness Studio and TTU Center Stage.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with our generous celebration sponsors,” said Karla Clarke, President of the Friends of the Appalachian Center for Craft of Tennessee and general manager of Marriott Fairfield Inn and Suites in Cookeville.

“They join a wide range of dedicated volunteers, artists and other supporters who donate time, effort and money to the annual celebration. For the past 12 years the event has raised funds that directly support high-quality educational arts outreach programs provided by the Craft Center to thousands of children, K-12, in the Upper Cumberland,” she continued.

“Wal-Mart in Cookeville is sponsoring the hands-on craft projects for children during the event with funding and volunteers, through their Volunteer Assistance Program,” said FACCT treasurer Noreen Grisolano.

“Synergy Mind Body Fitness Studio is sponsoring the 2nd annual Build-a-Bowl booth – visitors can hand build a ceramic bowl to donate to Habitat for Humanity, and TTU’s Center Stage program is sponsoring the day’s musical entertainment, Gypsy Pompe and the Ballinger Family Band.”

The Celebration of Craft includes craft demonstrations, live music, kids’ hands-on craft activities, gallery discounts, fine craft sale, silent auction and more. Admission is free.
