College of Business Student Success Center staff present at regional conference
Center Director Julie Galloway and Amy Jo Carpenter, manager of the College of Business Student-to-Career Program, presented a session entitled “Professional Development Week: Helping Students Win the Hiring Race.” The presentation discussed TTU’s Professional Development Week and other programs produced by the College of Business Student-to-Career Program.
The Student-to-Career Program elements covered in the presentation included “Ticket to Ride – Nashville Career Fair Trip,” “Professional Development Week,” “College of Business Board of Trustees Etiquette Dinner” and the “Business Professional Clothes Closet.”
“There were over 40 attendees at our session,” said Carpenter. “We had requests for additional information from several institutions such as Marshall University, Clemson University, Western Kentucky University, University of Kentucky, Ashland Community and Technical College, Northern Kentucky University and Bayamon Central University, Bayamon, Puerto Rico. These schools are interested in emulating our programs at their schools.”
More than 330 representatives from some 50 universities from Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky and Puerto Rico were present at the conference.
Galloway and Carpenter have also been invited to present at the National NACADA Conference in Orlando in October.
