Cumberland County’s Christopher, Whisnant recognized at TTU fall commencement

Martha Dianne Christopher and Sara Jane Wisnant, both of Crossville, were recognized by Tennessee Tech University President Bob Bell for their academic achievements during last month’s commencement ceremony.

Christopher, a graduate of Gateway Christian Schools, graduated summa cum laude from TTU and received the W. A. Howard award at TTU’s commencement ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 17, in recognition of her perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average.

Christopher majored in education.

Whisnant, a graduate of Stone Memorial High School, graduated in cursu honoram, an honor that comes with taking at least 22 hours of honors courses and graduating with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. She majored in arts and sciences.
