Debbie Barnard, a French professor in the Department of Foreign Languages, has been named the university’s Ambassador of the Month for May for her work as the university's Fulbright representative.
"Dr. Barnard supervises and advises the student's application process and with her dedication has helped four students from the German program make their dreams of studying abroad true," said Julia Baker, assistant professor of German, in Barnard's nomination. "This is a major achievement and sheds a very positive light on this university, its teachers and students.
"It is a lengthy process that requires patience, perseverance and dedication -- qualities that Dr. Barnard exhibits like not many others," Baker continued.
Barnard has been with the university since August 2006.
