Paintings by David LeDoux and John Steele comprise the first exhibit of the gallery's 1996-97 season. Both men have been active in their painting careers for over 50 years, and both have shared their experience and expertise as university art professors: LeDoux at Middle Tennessee State University and Steele at East Tennessee State University.
Their works range from representational to abstract, spanning half a century of modern art during which American artists led the world in taking painting and sculpture in new directions.
The exhibit begins Sunday, August 25, and continues through Friday, September 27. Everyone is welcome to attend an opening reception with the artists in the gallery from 1-4 p.m. on August 25. The Joan Derryberry Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the University Center. For more information, call 372-3161.
