Euphoniumist Adam Frey to present guest recital at TTU Sept. 23Adam Frey has been all around the world and now he comes to the Tennessee Tech University campus on Friday, Sept. 23, for a guest euphonium recital in Wattenbarger Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.
Accompanying him for the performance will be pianist Paul Thurmond and Joshua Hauser on the euphonium.
Frey has appeared at many venues the world over and is noted as a top brass performer. His travels have brought him to South Korea, Finland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland and Australia just to name a few.
He has released two solo recordings, Listen to THIS!! and Collected Dreams, both of which received worldwide acclaim for innovative sound. Dreams features traditional Scottish, Irish and classical melody combining the euphonium and synthesizer to create a new age sound.
Frey will continue recording in 2005 with two new projects at hand. He also serves as an adjunct professor of euphonium at Georgia State University and also as the euphonium artist affiliate at Atlanta’s Emory University.
Wattenbarger Auditorium is located inside the Bryan Fine Arts Building and the concert will be free and open to the general public.
