Flutist Eva Amsler to present concert at TTU on Friday, Oct. 24

Flutist Eva Amsler will perform at Tennessee Tech University’s Wattenbarger Auditorium of the Bryan Fine Arts Building at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24.

Amsler’s repertoire includes performing on the wooden flute, which provides audiences a chance to hear music of the 18th and 19th centuries played on the instrument for which those particular compositions were written.

She is a professor of flute at Florida State University and previously served on the faculty of the State Conservatory of Music in Feldkirch, Austria, teaching flute and chamber music.

Her performances have been broadcast in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Scandinavia and the United States.

Her concert will feature pieces played on the wood flute, representing a variety of western nationalities and styles.
A Center Stage event, the show is free and open to the public.

She will lead TTU’s Flute Day activities on Saturday, Oct. 25, by presenting a series of master classes for regional high school and college musicians.
