Greppin, who has served as TTU's director of Public Affairs since 1996, oversees and strategically plans the university's public relations, communications and marketing efforts. She supervises the Office of Public Affairs, which coordinates and supports the university's communications and enhances TTU's recognition and image through the media.
"Monica is a much valued member of our advancement team, and I appreciate all that she does for the university," said Mark Hutchins, vice president for University Advancement. "She has truly earned this title."
TTU's Office of Public Affairs has led efforts to respond to the changing communications needs all universities face in the wake of the Virginia Tech tragedy. Recent marketing initiatives include a new television commercial and companion web site, plus increased exposure through radio and online media outlets.
The campus' News Bureau, Marketing, Publications, Web and Digital Media, and Photographic Services directors report to the associate vice president for Communications and Marketing, who typically serves as the university's primary media spokesperson.
Greppin was named TTU's director of Public Affairs after serving as assistant director of University Development. She earned a bachelor's degree in English-journalism from TTU and a master's degree in journalism with a concentration in public relations from the University of Memphis.
As the institution's sixth associate vice president, Greppin reports to the vice president for University Advancement.
