Hamilton County’s Terrell wins with TTU speech and debate

Jessica Terrell, of Chattanooga, took home a couple awards this semester with Tennessee Tech University’s speech and debate team.

At the BBQ Capital of the World tournament at Kentucky’s Owensboro Community and Technical College, she won the top novice award in persuasive speaking. At the Berea and Cumberland Swing tournament in Kentucky, she won sixth place in persuasive speaking. At that competition, the team also won second place in the large school debate sweepstakes and third place in the large school individual events sweepstakes.

Terrell is a junior marketing major. She is a graduate of the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences.
