Jack Butler has joined Tennessee Tech University as the new associate vice president for Facilities and Business Services.
Butler brings international experience in facilities management and campus planning, having served in director positions at Zayed University in Dubai and at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. He most recently served as associate vice president of facilities management at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
At Lamar, he oversaw almost $70 million in capital construction projects. His responsibilities included construction and renovations, facilities human resources, landscaping, utilities and energy management, and emergency management logistics.
He earned a master's degree in environmental sciences from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and a bachelor's degree from the College of Engineering at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He also holds several certifications in heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, water and wastewater treatment and management.
Butler joined the university in July, filling the vacant position previously held by Mike Nivens.
