You get the annual John Wells’ organ recital. Wells is a TTU professor emeritus and retired nuclear physicist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
His recital will be held at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, in the Wattenbarger Auditorium of the Bryan Fine Arts Building.
Wells said he is especially interested in the physical acoustics of musical instruments. Before his retirement, he regularly taught a physics course about the acoustics of music to help students recognize how music and science relate to each other.
Accompanying Wells during the recital will be Sigrid Luther on piano.
Some of the music featured in the recital will include “Rigaudon” by Andre Campra, “Fugue in G Major” by Johann Sebastian Bach and variations of “America” by Charles Ives.
The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call TTU’s Music and Art Department at 372-3161.
