Kim to offer clarinet recital at TTU Sept. 12

thumb WonkakKimWonkak Kim, assistant professor of clarinet at Tennessee Tech University, will give a recital, “A Journey Through Europe,” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12.

Pianist and recent addition to TTU faculty Grace Eunhye Choi will accompany Kim.

The program will feature pieces by Claude Debussy and Carl Maria von Weber as well as Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů, of Czechoslovakia and Leó Weiner, of Hungary.

Kim and Choi have performed recitals throughout the U.S., France, U.K., Belgium and South Korea, and their CD, featuring clarinet sonatas by François Devienne, received international acclaim.

thumb ChoiThe concert will be in TTU’s Wattenbarger Auditorium in the Bryan Fine Arts building at 1150 N. Dixie Ave. It is free and open to the public.
