Mayberry Lecture Features Lessons in Creative Thinking

Have you ever wondered how people think up those snappy little sayings on greeting cards? University of Cincinnati professor Jim Evans will show you how to unlock your creativity at the 1999 Mayberry Lecture in Tennessee Tech's Johnson Hall Auditorium Tuesday, March 23, 1:30-2:30 p.m.

The director of the Total Quality Management Center in the College of Business at the University of Cincinnati, Evans will address the barriers to creative thinking, the characteristics of creative people and ways to enhance creative problem solving abilities. He will also illustrate the role of creativity in problem solving and quality improvements through interactive exercises.

Evans has served as a consultant for companies including AT&T, Kroger and Procter & Gamble. He has lead creative thinking training for Hallmark Cards and has been scheduling umpires since the late 1970s for the American Baseball League.

The lecture is free and open to the public and university students. Participants are requested to bring paper and pencil. For more information, call Dan Cooper at 372-6486.
