McWilliams Realty donates portion from auction of William L. Anderson property to TTU

Cookeville’s McWilliams Realty recently donated a significant portion of its commission from the auction of the William L. Anderson estate to Tennessee Tech University. Anderson’s entire estate was left to TTU and, at more than $2.23 million, is the single largest gift in university history. McWilliams Realty donated much of its time to organizing and conducting the sale of his home and personal property — which totaled $198,417 — in addition to donating to the university approximately $8,500 of its commission from the auction. An appreciation lunch was recently held on campus for the McWilliams family, and pictured from left are Mark Hutchins, vice president of University Advancement at TTU; Jim and Heidi McWilliams, Ted McWilliams, TTU President Robert Bell and First Lady Gloria Bell.
