According to a Newsweek study, Tennessee Tech University is the 12th most affordable university in the country, and the only school in Tennessee to make the list.
Released earlier this month, the study ranked the 25 most affordable schools, based on student debt at graduation, total cost, financial aid and future earnings of graduates.
TTU offers majors in science, engineering and mathematics that commonly lead to high salaries.
A 2010 study by U.S.News & World Report found that 60 percent of TTU graduates left school debt free, and students with debt had an average debt of less than $10,000, the lowest in the South. Most TTU students receive some kind of financial aid.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology topped the 2012 Newsweek list of Most Affordable Schools.
