Oakley STEM Center Offers FAB Fridays & Safari Saturdays

Families with kids in the 4th through 12th grade can experience STEM FAB Fridays, while young learners, preschool through 3rd grade, are invited to STEM Safari Saturdays.
FAB Fridays are opportunities for kids and parent/guardians to explore hands-on technology, science and engineering equipment and activities. The next FAB Friday is Feb. 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. Reservations are required, but admission is free.
"We have some great new activities coming up this spring," said Gail Gentry, the STEM Center's outreach coordinator. "Kids and families can learn about taste buds, flavor chemistry, and "mine for chocolate". We also offer experiences in engineering communications as a designer/builder and working with robotics using LEGO Mindstorms."
February's first FAB Friday on February 3rd and is supported by the TTU Food, Nutrition and Dietetics Club and the Society of Women Engineers. The next FAB Friday is scheduled for February 24 with a focus on space science and astronomy!
The Safari Saturday program invites young children and their families, older siblings welcome, to participate in a variety of theme-based learning activities.
Develop your child's curiosity, creativity, and confidence by joining them for colorific explorations with prisms, dyes, liquids, markers, and cabbages! Experience "Color Capers" on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the STEM Center's Early Childhood Learning Studio.
Reservations are required for FAB Fridays and Safari Saturdays, but admission is free. Families may make reservations using the online MarketPlace store available on the STEM Center's website.
Parent/guardians must accompany and remain with the child/children during the Friday and Saturday programs.
