Tennessee Tech University hosts event on Jan. 11, 2010

Upper Cumberland-area clergy, ministers, church personnel, and their advisors are invited to a free seminar on financial and tax issues from 1 to 3 p.m., Jan. 11, in Tennessee Tech University’s Multipurpose Room (located in the Roaden University Center).

Featured topics include financial support packages, the importance of church-provided insurance as well as requirements for 403(b) retirement plans.  Other matters covered will include: tax issues facing ministers and churches, best practices for handling ministry-related expenses of ministers, and determining and documenting housing allowances of ministers.

The seminar is designed primarily for ministers, but church treasurers, secretaries, and church budget personnel will also benefit by attending.  Richard Skidmore, a church and clergy financial support specialist with many years of experience, will present the seminar.

Complimentary coffee/colas/refreshments will be available at the start of the seminar.
