Seminars – ‘Word for Small Business’ series

The Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) at Tennessee Tech University will conduct a two-part seminar series entitled “Word for Small Business” beginning 3:30 p.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 8. The series will be presented by Gwen Paul.

The first session will have a particular emphasis on small business applications such as formatting documents, adjusting margins and using templates. The second session will add features such as using mail merge, creating brochures and flyers, and much more.

At the end of the Word series, a small business owner will be able to calculate simple payroll and withholdings and keep up with sales revenue by categories, as well as be able to use the basic features of Excel.

The first session of the seminar will be Dec. 8 and the second session will be 3:30 p.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 10.

The seminar will be held in TTU’s Johnson Hall, Room 307. The cost for the seminar is $10, which includes both sessions and a detailed reference handout.
