Student group hosts Ashley Cleveland in concert, worship
Ashley ClevelandThe Presbyterian Student Association at Tennessee Tech University and the local Come ToGather ministry will host three-time Grammy and two-time Dove Award winner Ashley Cleveland for a concert and worship service Sunday, Dec. 12.
Cleveland, a Nashville resident, has released eight critically acclaimed albums, the most recent being "God Don't Never Change," released in 2009. This latest work features songs rooted firmly in a "...host of traditions — black spirituals, folks songs, 18th century hymns, gospel blues, and jubilee." The disc was nominated for a 2010 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Gospel Album.
The concert and worship service is set for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at the TTU Backdoor Playhouse. The concert and worship service comes on the eve of final exams, and the theme is "This Is Not A Test."
