“The trombone is a relatively young solo instrument, compared to the piano or violin, and we have the responsibility to showcase its abilities through these wonderful early and mid-20th century repertoire,” said Joshua Hauser, TTU trombone professor. “This repertoire is a great opportunity for students to show off their musical abilities and passions.”

TTU trombone students will perform a selection of solos, accompanied by TTU accompanist Paul Thurmond, including pieces by Arthur Pryor, a former member of the John Phillip Sousa band, as well as works by jazz legend Tommy Dorsey, Herbert L. Clarke and Henry Fillmore.
