Join Tennessee’s Cambia flute ensemble for a trip around the world at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 1, in Tennessee Tech University’s Wattenbarger Auditorium. The performance, Around the World in 80 Minutes, will include music from England, France, Spain, Hungary, Russia, Japan, Africa and the United States.
Based in the Tennessee cities of Johnson City, Kingsport and Bristol, the ensemble was formed in 2009. Flutists Dana Bellino, Eileen Butler, Elisa Wardeska and Emily Webb use the group to explore the instrument’s possibilities.
The group is quickly gaining a reputation for combining challenging performances with camaraderie between performers and the audience.
Sponsored by TTU's Center Stage, the performance is free and open to the public. Wattenbarger Auditorium is in the Bryan Fine Arts Building at 1150 N. Dixie Ave.
