If you are thinking of starting a business or have a business and need a business plan, the Tennessee Small Business Development Center at Tennessee Tech University can help. The Center will present a free, two-part series in June to teach all of the components of a business plan and what to anticipate when writing one.

“So, You Want to Write a Business Plan?” will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 15, and Saturday, June 29, in Johnson Hall 218. Johnson Hall is on the TTU campus at 1105 N. Peachtree Ave. in Cookeville.

The first part of the seminar, on June 15, will cover the basic narrative parts of the business plan including the business description, marketing analytics and loan requests.

The second session, on June 29, will discuss the financial statements of a business plan including statement of personal finances, balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.

Seminar attendees will receive reference guides for writing a business plan and for understanding financial statements.

Although admission is free, registration is required for each seminar. To register, visit www.helpmysmallbusiness.org/training or call the TSBDC at (931) 372-3648.

The Tennessee Small Business Development Center is partially funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Tennessee Board of Regents, and the state of Tennessee.
