TTU alumnus to give bassoon concert on campus

thumb Michael_ChristophBassoonist Michael Christoph, ‘03, will return to his alma mater to give a 7:30 p.m. concert Wednesday, March 27, in Tennessee Tech University’s Wattenbarger Auditorium.

A Cookeville native, Christoph teaches bassoon and other music courses at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where he has founded several ensembles. He performs regularly across Colorado.

The concert will feature a variety of works and styles by composers from France, Brazil and Colorado, as well as a collaboration with TTU bassoon students.

Christoph is a founding member of the Boulder Bassoon Quartet and co-founder of Among Friends, a mixed-media chamber music series in that city. He has worked on several special chamber music projects; he belongs to the Metropolitan Woodwind Consort and the Airde Ensemble.

The concert is free and open to the public. Wattenbarger Auditorium is in the Bryan Fine Arts building at 1150 N. Dixie Ave on the TTU campus.
