TTU art student shares Cold War memories in teapot exhibition

thumb Tracey_Willams-YoungTennessee Tech University art student Tracey Williams-Young will share her memories of growing up during the Cold War in her senior exhibition, “Cold War, Hot Tea.”

The show will be on display in the North Windows Gallery of the Appalachian Center for Craft Wednesday, Nov. 23, until Sunday, Nov. 27.

The show is a collection of hand-built teapots that recollect headlines, graphics, toys and collected objects of the generation that was born into the Cold War attitude that nuclear annihilation was imminent.

The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The Appalachian Center for Craft is located six miles off Highway 56 (Interstate 40, exit 273) near Smithville. Visit www.tntech.edu/craftcenter or call 931-372-3051 for more information.
