TTU awards College of Business scholarships to local students
Tennessee Technological University’s 35th annual College of Business Scholarships and Awards Banquet was held recently.
Faculty, business alumni, scholarship donors, scholarship recipients and their families packed the Multipurpose Room of the Roaden University Center on April 29 as 123 students received scholarships totaling almost $133,000.
Thirty honor students (those maintaining a 4.0 grade point average), were acknowledged for their scholastic achievements. In addition, nine of the university’s Captain Anderson Scholars and three Alex Cassetty Memorial Interns were recognized.
“We are proud of this outstanding group of students,” said James Jordan-Wagner, dean of the College of Business. “We are also extremely pleased with the support we receive from businesses and alumni in supplying the private funds for scholarships. In trying times, they have responded by increasing the amount that we could award this year. These awards help us attract high-quality students to the college and the university.”
The College of Business and its accounting program are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, making it among the fewer than 5 percent of business programs worldwide to hold this distinction.
