TTU BFA student presents exhibit at Craft Center April 12-17

Beginning April 12, Aaron McIntosh — a bachelor of fine arts student at Tennessee Tech University — displays his quilting exhibit, titled “Arrangements,” in Gallery One of the Appalachian Center for Craft from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and running through April 17.

A reception for McIntosh is scheduled for Thursday, April 13, from 6 to 9 p.m., during which he will be on hand to speak about his exhibit. His connection with quilting led him to what would become “Arrangements.”

“The quilting genre led me to explore the interconnected relationships between societal organization, group identity and personal identity,” said McIntosh. “I have sorted abstracted objects and shapes into arrangements that represent social order, group dynamics, struggle for identity and loss of individuality inherent in social culture.”

The Appalachian Center for Craft is located approximately six miles from Interstate 40 at Exit 273. Go south on Highway 56 and turn left immediately after crossing Hurricane Bridge.
