“Eloquent Nail” will be in Gallery One and includes wearable art made of discarded nails and steel fragments.
The pieces include 100-year-old hand-forged nails chosen for their interesting shapes and eroded surfaces. Removed from the buildings or structures they were designed for, they become art. Several of the pieces include small amounts of gold or semi-precious stones.
An associate professor of art and metals at the University of Georgia, Jackson’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
