Bachelor of fine arts student Mallory Rose will host her solo senior thesis show at Tennessee Tech University’s Appalachian Center for Craft from Tuesday, April 10, through Monday, April 16.

Rose’s show, “Stomping Ground,” is comprised of pottery inspired by the South and inscribed with intricate details of maps and other images.

“I base my work on my families’ stories; each relative I heard about has been transformed into a new style of the Southern face jug,” Rose, a Tullahoma native, said. “Every piece tells a different part of the whole story that ultimately makes us who we are.”

The show will be held in the North Windows Gallery of the Craft Center. There will be a reception with the artist at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 14.

The Appalachian Center for Craft is conveniently located approximately six miles from Interstate 40 at Exit 273 (Smithville/McMinnville). Go south on Hwy. 56; turn left immediately after crossing Hurricane Bridge. This drive leads to the Craft Center.
