Tennessee Tech University's Small Coed Competition Squad attended the 2011 Universal Cheerleaders Association Cheerleading and Dance Nationals Championships held in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., in January.

The Tennessee Tech Competition Squad qualified for this competition by attending UCA Summer Camp at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and by submitting a skills and spirit video to UCA. TTU's team finished 13th in the nation in the Small Coed Division 1 competition.

"I am very proud of our TTU cheerleaders," said Coach Robin Burroughs. "They have been working very hard throughout the year to put together their routine and be able to perform it at nationals. We still have a very young squad made up of mostly freshman and sophomores.

"We have also faced some injuries prior to nationals that played a factor in the degree of difficulty of our routine," she added. "I am very excited about the years ahead for this team and the TTU Spirit program."

Other notable universities that attended the UCA Nationals Competition were Hofstra University, George Mason University, University of Kentucky, University of Alabama and University of Tennessee.

Members of the Tennessee Tech Small Coed Competition squad are as follows:

Ethan Campbell (Captain), Ashley Farris (Captain), Ashley Mitchell (Captain), Scott Stanford, Lowell Tapp Jr., Dale Goodin, Loren Pierce, Kelsey Church, Chandler Witt, Jessica Wilcher, Brianna Eldridge, Brittany Aiello, Allison Perkins, Olivia Webb, Caitlin Jones, Jordan Parks, and Kahla Evans.
