TTU students plan to teach computer basics in Cumberland County

Tennessee Tech University student volunteers are offering a free computer class for adults in Crossville on Wednesday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. CST.      The training, sponsored by the TTU Service Learning Center, will include hands-on instruction in the basics of using and operating a computer.    Participants will be shown how the Internet works, including how to use the Internet for job hunting.     Plans include instruction in the use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and can include resume’ preparation for job seekers.

Individuals wishing to reserve a computer for the training should call TTU representative Debbie Thurman at 931-484-7413 and leave a message with name, phone number, and number of attendees.     The training will be held at the Roane State/Tennessee Tech University Higher Education Center, 2567 Cook Road, Crossville, in Room 156.
