This concert has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 13.

Tennessee Tech University trumpet professor Charles Decker will give a recital with Joy Rachor, pianist and music director at Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Decker and Rachor will present several pieces by Russian and German composers from the first half of the 20th century, a time when expressive romanticism was the predominant musical style.

“It is a pleasure to share the stage with such a fine pianist as Joy Rachor,” Decker said. “Audiences will enjoy the lush harmonies, expressive lyricism and range of compositional treatments that make this virtuosic music so exciting.”

The concert will showcase “Concert Fantasie” by German Gustav Cords and “Concert Variations” by Russian Michael Gottlieb, among other works.

The concert is part of the year-long TTU Trumpet Festival concert series featuring solo and ensemble performances.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, in Wattenbarger Auditorium on TTU’s campus. It is free and open to the public.
