The quintet includes TTU faculty members Roger Martin, flute; William Woodworth, oboe; Wonkak Kim, clarinet; James Lotz, bassoon; and Jeremy Hansen, horn.
The group will play pieces from several different periods, ranging from classical to modern. Several of the pieces explore and highlight the variety of moods and styles a woodwind quintet can create.
The concert will begin with Mozart’s “12 Variations on ‘Ah! Vous dirai-je, Maman’,” which is a set of variations on the theme of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” The quintet will also perform 20th-century German composer Alfred Uhl’s “Vier Stucke fur Blaserquintett;” Jean-Philippe Rameau’s Baroque pieces “L’Agacante” and “L’Indiscrete;” and French composer Jacques Ibert’s “Cinq Pieces en Trio pour Hautbois, Clarinette et Basson.” The concert will end with John Cheetham’s “Quintet for Woodwinds,” a relatively recent piece.
The auditorium is in the Bryan Fine Arts building on N. Dixie Avenue on TTU’s campus.
