TTU’s Derryberry Gallery to host drawing exhibition
Hicks’ work explores the mental and emotional drama of his inner life through self-portraits and costuming. The drawings combine his memories, references to pop culture, food and other items of personal significance. His work is intended to remind the viewer of the beauty and similarity of human experience.
He is a visiting lecturer at the Herron School of Art and Design at Indiana University. His work has been exhibited in Chicago and Indianapolis, among others.
The Derryberry Gallery is in TTU’s Roaden University Center, 1000 N. Dixie Ave. It is free and open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
