TTU’s STEM Center to offer free interactive math and measurement workshop for young learners
The Millard Oakley STEM Center at Tennessee Tech University invites young mathematicians and scientists, PreK-3rd grade, and their families to Majestic Measurement, an engaging, hands-on Safari Saturday program, Dec. 1 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is free, but reservations are required.
Through multiple interactive learning stations, families will experience math and measurement activities including length, area, volume, time and weight. Some activities are introduced with children's literature.
Safari Saturdays are led by assistant professor Jane Baker from TTU’s College of Education. Baker is a leader in early childhood STEM-education strategies and programs, focusing on science, technology, engineering and math.
Majestic Measurement is a flexible event. Families may come and go as their schedules allow, but a parent or guardian must remain with children at all times.
