Two from Macon County receive awards from TTU

thumb Macon-WakefieldBlackburnTwo students from Macon County received awards this spring from Tennessee Tech University’s College of Arts and Sciences.

Rachel Wakefield, of Lafayette, was awarded the Cookeville Evening Lions Club scholarship. A freshman biology major, she is a member of the TTU Lions Club and the chemical-medical sciences club. He is a 2012 graduate of Macon County High School and daughter of Mark and Tabitha. After finishing her studies at TTU, she plans to go to optometry school.

Bryan Blackburn, of Red Boiling Springs, received the Richard H. and Vivian B. Fraser memorial scholarship. A recent graduate, he majored in geology and plans to go to graduate school to study vertebrate paleontology. He is the husband of Heather Blackburn and father of Forrest W., Wyatt A. and Gradi D. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1995.
