Two from Roane County receive awards from TTU

thumb Roane-KelleyClaudyTwo students from Roane County received awards this spring from Tennessee Tech University’s College of Arts and Sciences.

Jacob Kelley, a junior from Rockwood, received the Alberta Campana memorial scholarship and the William J. Brinker scholarship for study abroad. Kelley is studying German at TTU and plans to spend the fall semester in Regensburg, Germany. He is a member of the Alpha Mu Gamma foreign language honor society, the German Club, the international business society and the Tech Buddy Program. A 2010 graduate of Rockwood High School, he is the son of Cheryl Kelley. After graduating from TTU, he plans to pursue a graduate degree in German, linguistics or philology.

Recent TTU graduate Grace Ryan Claudy, of Harriman, received the history faculty scholarship. A history major, she is a member of Phi Alpha Theta and TTU Mortar Board honor societies. A 2009 graduate of the Faith Christian Academy, she is the daughter of Alison and Mark Claudy.
