Putnam County did not qualify for Federal Emergency Management Agency assistance, but a long-term flood recovery effort is underway and needs volunteers.

If you are interested in helping with Phase I of the Long Term Flood Recovery initiative in Putnam County, there will be a training session held by one of the board members. It will be held 11 a.m.-noon, Tuesday, Sept. 14, at RUC, Room 370.

Volunteers will be requested to make phone calls to flood victims after receiving training. The board member will train you how to hold phone interviews.  The trainer will share with you a list of questions that must be asked and train you how to respond to random questions you may get as well.
