thumb Odd_Man_Out_Triple_DriftwoodTennessee Tech University art professor Kimberly Winkle’s furniture designs will be exhibited at the Tennessee Arts Commission Gallery in Nashville until Friday, Jan. 27.

Winkle teaches art foundation courses and art appreciation at TTU but she got her start teaching in the Appalachian Center for Craft wood department. She still maintains a studio in Smithville.

Winkle is the sole exhibitor in the gallery. Her award-winning work has been shown nationally and internationally.

The Nashville show, “Not Overly Serious,” features her traditional furniture making techniques but the forms are embellished with hardwood, paint and graphite. She describes her nontraditional finished forms as “sophisticated yet approachable.”

The gallery is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Julie Horn at 615-532-9798 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
