New Hall North, North Wing wins 2010 Awesome Residence Hall Floor Competition
Students of New Hall North, North Wing accept a gift basket and trophy from the Office of Communications & Marketing as part of their prizes for winning the Awesome Residence Hall Floor Competition held during TTU Pride Days. Additional prizes included a pizza party provided by Chartwells, special seating section at the Sept. 30 football game and free concession tickets for the game. Does your residence hall have what it takes to be awesome? Show your TTU Pride by participating in the Pride Days Awesome Residence Hall Decorating Contest, now part of Res Life's Tech Wars! Compete against other residence halls across campus and choose a unique theme (popular movies, music, history, etc.) to showcase your TTU Pride. Tell your RA that you would like to participate in this challenge. Students are encouraged to work together to decorate their residence hall lobby in Tech themes and gold and purple to compete for these awesome prizes:
- Entire residence hall pizza party provided by Chartwells
- Bragging rights with Awesome Residence Hall Trophy to display in your dorm's lobby for the entire year
- All participating residents in winning hall will have a chance to win Tennessee Tech gear, free meal tickets and awesome prizes donated by local businesses
Deadline to participate is Sept. 22.

Residence Hall Contest Rules
- All fire codes must be observed.
- If decorating on walls, only 25% of the wall can be decorated.
- If using hanging decorations on walls, use only painter’s tape (no push pins, duct tape, etc.)
- If using lights, such as Christmas lights, as part of the decorations, the lights cannot interweave through the ceiling tiles.
- If in doubt about the permitted use of any decorating material, ask your RA.
