I am pleased to announce that Bahman Ghorashi has agreed to serve as Tennessee Tech University’s Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs effective July 1.

As a brief biography, Dr. Ghorashi is a professor of chemical and biomedical engineering at Cleveland State University, where he also serves as executive director of the Fenn Academy and the Fenn Research & Development Institute. He completed his doctoral degree in chemical engineering at The Ohio State University, where he also earned his master’s degree in the same discipline. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Wayne State University. He was a summer faculty fellow at NASA’s Lewis Research Center and has authored or co-authored nearly 80 publications and books and made nearly 60 technical presentations.

I appreciate the search committee’s hard work as well as the participation and feedback from across campus. I encourage you to join me in welcoming Dr. Ghorashi as he takes on this senior leadership role. I am confident Dr. Ghorashi will be a tremendous asset to the university as we focus for the future.
