COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 10, 2002) Raise your glass and raise
some money for Tennessee Tech University's Volpe Library at the 20th
annual Friends of the Library Foundation Champagne Gala.
"The gala is truly one of the classiest, most beneficial fundraisers
held each year, and this our 20th year will be no exception," said
Betty Case, foundation member and event organizer.
Set for 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, the gala will be held at the new
Cookeville/Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Leslie Town Centre, located
at 1 West 1st St.
Library Director Winston Walden said the event helps the TTU facility
maintain its reputation as "the largest and best in the region."
"While our first priority is to serve the TTU campus, we have become an
invaluable resource to the surrounding communities as well," he said. "To
meet everyone's needs, we need to stay current in all that we do. This event
helps provide the funding to maintain the high expectations we set for ourselves."
The cost of the gala is $17.50 and includes champagne or punch,
coffee or other non-alcoholic beverages for non-drinking attendees and
gourmet hors d'oeuvres and desserts. Easy listening music by O.J. Cummins
and the Four Horns will set the mood for the evening.
"I don't think our guests will be disappointed by the appetizers,
desserts and overall gala atmosphere they'll experience," said Case.
Tickets for the event may be purchased from any member of the library's
board of directors, from the library or at the door the evening of the
event.
