COOKEVILLE,
Tenn. (April 14, 2003) -- The Tennessee Tech baseball team is hosting
a fundraising barbecue dinner Tuesday, April 22, when the University
of Tennessee Vols visit Cookeville for a 6 pm game against the Golden
Eagles. Tickets are $5 for a barbecue pork plate that will be provided
by Stroud’s Barbecue. All proceeds will go to support the Tennessee
Tech baseball program.
Both the Golden Eagles and the Volunteers have been projected as contenders
for their conference championships, and their April 22nd game is expected
to be just as exciting as the recent game in Knoxville, which the Vols
won 7-6 in the bottom of the 9th.
Dinner will include a Stroud’s barbecue pork sandwich, baked beans,
chips and a drink. Food will be served from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. and fans
can eat dinner while they enjoy a night of exciting major college baseball.
For those who haven’t visited the Averitt Express Pavilion at Bush
Stadium/Quillen Field, it’s an opportunity to see the best baseball
complex in the Ohio Valley Conference. In addition, for those who are not
able to stay for the game, food may be bought for carry-out.
People are encouraged to buy tickets in advance, although there will
be a limited amount of food available for walk-up purchase. To purchase
tickets
stop by the Eblen Center Ticket Office, hours 8 am – 12 and 1 – 4:30
pm, Monday through Friday. Or, you may call the Ticket Office at 372-3940.
