COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (April 7, 2004) – If the new manager of Tennessee
Tech University’s Barnes & Noble Bookstore seems to have a familiar
face — it’s because she does.
Angela O’Connor was promoted to the position last month when former
manager Jimmy Grinnel moved to a store in North Carolina. She had been
working as the assistant manager at the TTU store for about a year.
“Although I have more responsibilities now, I’m excited about
the transition from assistant manager to manager,” she said.
O’Connor has been working for Barnes & Noble since 1999, and
she earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of
Central Florida in 2002. She came to TTU from a position at Brevard Community
College in Florida.
“I love working in a college environment. Being on a college campus
is fun, and I look forward to being able to help enhance the quality relationship
our bookstore already has with TTU’s academic departments,”
she said.
Her responsibilities as manager include general merchandising and incorporating
company goals, employee needs and campus and community outreach efforts.
