COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 28, 2004) — Take a musical journey to Russia
and Spain when Fredrick Kennedy presents a faculty voice recital at 8
p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, at the Wattenbarger Auditorium of Tennessee Tech
University’s Bryan Fine Arts Building.
“I’ve prepared a recital this year that is a little different
from the programming of standard literature,” he said. “It
will feature songs from the countries of Russia and Spain.”
The recital will include groups of songs by Russian composer Sergei Rachmanino
and Spanish composer Xavier Montsalvatge.
Other features will include songs composed by Back, Sowerby and Hoiby
and traditional spirituals arranged by Jacqueline Hairston and Hall Johnson.
Internationally known pianist and coach Henri Venanzi will accompany
Kennedy.
The show is free and open to the public.
