COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 1, 2004) — David Gregory, vice chancellor
of the Tennessee Board of Regents Office of Administration and Facilities
Development, will address about 426 graduates at Tennessee Tech University’s
summer commencement ceremonies at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, in Hooper
Eblen Center.
A veteran public administrator, he was appointed as vice chancellor for
administration and facilities development for the TBR in May 1998.
In this position, Gregory is responsible for overseeing capital outlay
and maintenance projects at the 46 TBR university and community college
institutions located across the state.
Formerly the director of government affairs for Blue Cross Blue Shield,
he also held leadership positions in state government for 15 years as
Chief of Staff for Gov. Ned McWherter and as Chief of Staff for Lt. Gov.
John Wilder.
Gregory is a graduate of David Lipscomb University, and he and his wife,
Linda, have three daughters.
Students graduating from TTU this summer hail from eight states including
Tennessee, 59 Tennessee counties and four foreign countries. They represent
32 undergraduate fields of study and 16 graduate fields.
Following summer commencement, TTU will have granted more than 60,000
degrees, including more than 30,000 since 1986.
