Spalding County, Ga., native is recipient of 2004 History Faculty Scholarship  

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 12, 2004) — Presenting Tennessee Tech University’s 2004 History Faculty Scholarship is, right, Jeffery J. Roberts, history chairperson. One of this year’s recipients is, left, Charles D. Sears. The award is given to entering freshman majoring fulltime in history. Applicants completed a form, submitted a letter of recommendation from a high school history teacher and included a 200-word essay discussing the value of studying history in preparation for their careers. Sears graduated from Griffin High School in Spalding County, Georgia. He is also a member of the TTU History Club and Mortar Board Honor Society.
