| Chaffin donation creates education scholarship | ||||||||||
| Chaffins create
education scholarship at TTU — (Oct. 26, 2004) Tennessee Tech University
President Bob Bell, center, accepts an $11,000 donation check from Hubert
and Shirley Chaffin of Baxter to establish a new scholarship endowment for
the university. The Hubert and Shirley Chaffin Scholarship will benefit
an upper class education major in good academic standing, and it will be
awarded for the first time after Sept. 30, 2005. The couple said they wanted
to create the scholarship as a way of supporting TTU and the educational
