native named TBR student regent — (Sept. 17, 2004) Tennessee
Tech University President Bob Bell, left, congratulates Laura Wells for
being named this year’s student regent for the Tennessee Board of
Regents and Tennessee Higher Education Commission. Wells is a native of
Rutledge and a student at Walters State Community College in Morristown.
She follows TTU graduate Jessica Whitehead in the prestigious position.
In addition, Wells is a student member of the Tennessee State Board of Education,
candidate for Student Government President at Walters State and recipient
of the Board of Regents Otis Floyd Scholarship. She has also participated
in the University of Tennessee Medical Explorations Summer Program.
